A calm base for remote work in Uluwatu

VELA runs 200 Mbps fibre WiFi across the grove, with shaded corners built for a morning of deep work and an ocean five minutes away for everything in between, a digital-nomad base for people who have outgrown the co-working crowd.

What working from VELA actually looks like: connectivity and power, where to sit, the time-zone math, weekly-stay logistics and when to close the laptop.

Connectivity & power

Fibre WiFi at 200 Mbps covers every lodge and shared space and comfortably carries video calls; 4G/5G from Telkomsel blankets Uluwatu as backup. Power is stable, sockets are plentiful, and drinking water, coffee and tea are within arm’s reach of every good chair.

Where to work

The Observatory Villa suits longer working stays, a shared lounge and kitchen, a proper table, AC for humid afternoons and grove light that makes 9am calls forgivable. The Studio’s garden terrace is the favourite for focused mornings; the pool deck handles the inbox hours.

The time-zone math

Bali runs UTC+8. European afternoons land in your evening (a 3pm Amsterdam call is 9pm here, take it after dinner), Australian mornings match yours, and US-West overlaps at your early morning. The classic rhythm: deep work 7–11am, ocean at midday, calls late afternoon.

Weekly stays

For stays of a week or more we slow the rate and speed the logistics: laundry twice weekly, a standing breakfast order, scooter for the duration and a concierge who learns your rhythm. Message us for a weekly quote, long-stay guests are how VELA prefers to be full.

When to log off

Golden hour belongs to the cliffs, the lanes empty, the light turns warm, and no deadline survives a Bingin sunset. The WiFi will still be there tomorrow. So will we.
