What the drive from Ngurah Rai to Pecatu actually looks like, and how to make the last leg easy.
Ngurah Rai airport sits just north of Uluwatu, so the drive to Pecatu is short by Bali standards. Expect around forty minutes when the roads are clear, closer to an hour in the late afternoon.
The route climbs out of Jimbaran and up onto the peninsula. The traffic thins as you go, the shops give way to limestone walls, and the last few kilometres run quiet through the villages above Uluwatu.
A pre-arranged car is the simplest way to arrive. We can have a driver waiting at the terminal, which saves the queue at the taxi rank and the haggling that comes with it.
If you would rather use a ride app, they work well from the airport pickup point, though signal can drop on the smaller lanes near the end. Save the final directions before you set off.
