Rammed earth, alang-alang and lime, the honest materials that shape every lodge at VELA.
Each lodge is built from the earth it sits upon. Rammed-earth walls are pressed by hand, layer by layer, until they hold the warmth of the ground and the colour of the land.
Above them, alang-alang thatch lets the air move and the rain run. Lime finishes breathe. Wood is left close to its natural state. Nothing is added that does not need to be.
Material honesty is not a style here, it is the architecture. The result is a space that feels grounded, tactile and quietly cool, even in Uluwatu heat.
