The Earth-Pressed Studio is the most elemental way to stay at VELA. Its walls were rammed by hand, layer upon layer of local earth, until they held the colour of the land and the cool of the ground. Nothing is painted over; nothing pretends to be something else.

It stands alone in the grove, with its own entrance and an outdoor shower open to the sky. You wake to birdsong, step onto a private garden terrace, and feel, immediately, that you are somewhere honest and quiet.

Because the earth does the work, the lodge stays naturally cool through the heat of the day. In the evening it holds the warmth a little longer, the way the ground does after the sun has gone.
